Kosovar striker Vedat Muriqi has announced that he has extended his contract with RCD Mallorca until the summer of 2029. While fans speculated that the renewal might come with a pay raise for the 31-year-old, Muriqi clarified in an interview with Cadena Ser that his salary will remain unchanged from last season.
Muriqi, who will remain the highest-paid player at the club with an annual salary of €4 million, emphasized that money is not his main focus.
“What people need to understand is that with this renewal, I will earn the same as last year, just for a longer period. I’m not someone who thinks about money. My agent called to tell me about offers, and I asked my daughter if she wanted to leave Mallorca — she said no,” Muriqi explained.
The striker joined Mallorca from Lazio in 2022 for a fee of €8 million. Since then, he has made 118 appearances, scored 35 goals, and delivered 11 assists for the Spanish side.
