Ganimete Musliu, Member of Parliament for the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), sharply criticized the outgoing Vetëvendosje (VV) government, calling it a “killer of hope and the country’s future.” Her comments came in response to statements by VV representatives during the 28–29 November Independence Day celebrations in Albania, where they addressed the diaspora, urging Kosovars abroad to participate in the December 28 parliamentary elections.

Musliu accused Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla, Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla, and former Deputy Speaker Albulena Haxhiu of exploiting the national celebrations for political campaigning, appealing to the diaspora for electoral support.

According to Musliu, VV is “begging the diaspora for salvation,” describing it as a desperate and panicked move. She wrote:

“They go to celebrate the national holiday, and end up begging the diaspora for rescue.”

Musliu further criticized the VV-led government for disrespecting national holidays, traditions, and institutions, calling them manipulators interested only in political gain. She stated:

“They respect neither national holidays, weddings, funerals, the diaspora, Kosovo, nor Albania. These liars and manipulators are destroyers.”

She concluded by emphasizing that the current government is responsible for eroding hope and destroying opportunities for a better future for Kosovo’s citizens:

“They are killers of hope and the future of this country.”

This scathing critique reflects growing opposition frustration with VV’s attempts to leverage symbolic national moments for political advantage, raising concerns about the state of governance and vision for Kosovo’s future.
