The Program Director of N1 television, Igor Božić, stated today that the man who attacked the N1 crew is most likely the individual convicted of murder in 1997 and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
“The police conducted forensic analysis, and since the man was holding the camera, they were able to collect DNA and fingerprints,” Božić said during an interview on N1.
He further noted that this incident marks the 12th physical attack on journalists reporting near the tent settlement in front of the Serbian Parliament. Previously, there had been 11 such attacks against reporters from various newsrooms.
“This is a final warning to the authorities that this must stop. Police officers present must represent the state and ensure the safety of all citizens,” Božić emphasized.
The attack occurred while the N1 crew was filming near the tent settlement where government supporters reside, close to the Serbian Parliament.
