The national protest organized by the movement “Albania Happens” has concluded. This was the fourth protest held by this movement. Many citizens joined the demonstration, calling for mass participation in protests against corruption.
With banners reading “Edi Rama, you thief,” “Where did the stolen billions go,” and “Edi Rama, you’re finished,” protesters sent strong messages. Many Albanians from the diaspora also joined the demonstration.
During the protest in front of the Prime Ministry, Adriatik Lapaj addressed citizens with clear messages, outlining the government scandals from the Balluku affair to AKSHI, emphasizing reasons why the Rama government should be removed:
“For what reason should a government be removed if it doesn’t resign when the Deputy Prime Minister is caught stealing 53 million euros? When 100 million euros are caught in AKSHI scandals? For what reason doesn’t a government leave when they force young people to emigrate? Every day that passes strengthens their dictatorship; every scandal makes it even harder to remove them. So think carefully… This is a battle between a minority that has occupied the offices and divides the state budget, between those who drink a 33-thousand-euro bottle of wine and those whose hands tremble to buy a chocolate for their children… This is a battle between pensioners who have worked a lifetime and are not valued, and those who mock with vacations at luxury resorts.”
