The defense ministers of NATO’s 32 member states have approved new operational measures to address the growing risk posed by Russia.

The decisions were made during the first meeting since the Hague Summit, at a time when security concerns have significantly increased due to repeated violations of the Alliance’s airspace by Russian drones.

The discussions focused on strengthening NATO’s defensive capabilities through the expansion of anti-drone measures. Ministers agreed to test integrated anti-drone systems on the Alliance’s eastern flank — an area that faces direct threats from the East.

NATO also emphasized the urgent need to increase investments in defense and technological innovation. To accelerate technological advancements and respond effectively to modern security challenges, the Alliance will intensify cooperation with the European Union and the private sector.

These measures represent a clear response to Russia’s provocative actions and reaffirm NATO’s commitment to ensuring collective security and effectively addressing the threats coming from the East.
