NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that Patrick Turner has been appointed to lead the NATO Representation in Ukraine (NRU).

During the NATO summit held in Washington last week, Stoltenberg for the creation of the NRU and for the position of the high civilian representative, who will lead it.

Stoltenberg said Truner is a “dedicated public servant” who has a good track record of achieving results.

Turner is a strong supporter of Ukraine, which is facing a full-scale invasion by Russia in 2022. He served as Britain’s defense secretary before becoming NATO’s assistant secretary-general for foreign policy. of defense and planning, a post he held from 2018 to 2022.

According to the announcement, Turner will start his duties in Kiev in September of this year. /REL
