In a recent statement, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized that Russia is suffering massive troop losses in its war against Ukraine.
According to Rutte, Russian fatalities reach 20,000 to 25,000 killed in a single month.
“I am not referring to those who are severely wounded, but to those who are killed—dead,” he stressed.
Compared to the war in Afghanistan during the 1980s, when Russia lost around 20,000 soldiers over ten years, the figures in Ukraine are “clear and unsustainable.”
“They are now losing that number—or more—in just one month. This is not sustainable even for them,” Rutte added.
The statement comes as Ukrainian forces continue to resist the Russian aggression, inflicting significant losses on Moscow’s military ranks.
