NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, ridiculed Moscow’s reactions following U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement that Russia is a “paper tiger.”
“The one who is gold doesn’t need to emphasize that they are gold—it will be clear to everyone. This shows significant weakness on the Russian side. It’s evident that President Trump hit the mark,” Rutte told Fox News.
Moscow’s reactions came after Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on Trump’s words, claiming that Russia is gold, not a tiger, and that “there is no such thing as paper gold.”
Peskov also responded to Trump’s claim that Ukraine could reclaim all occupied territories, emphasizing that Russian forces are advancing on all fronts and that the dynamics of the war are visible.
He added that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, without proper preparation, would be merely a propagandistic show likely to fail prematurely.
