NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is set to visit Kosovo on March 11 for the first time since assuming his role. During his visit, Rutte will meet with President Vjosa Osmani, and the two are expected to hold a joint press conference.
Rutte had previously announced his visit to Kosovo during a debate in Bratislava, Slovakia, emphasizing the importance of stability in Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia for the entire region. He expressed confidence that the American commitment to NATO would remain unchanged despite regional challenges.
Ahead of his visit, President Osmani highlighted that Kosovo’s stability is crucial for the security of the entire region, reinforcing the need for continued engagement with KFOR and NATO.
Rutte will be accompanied by ambassadors from NATO member states who are part of the North Atlantic Council during his visit.
