Nebojša Pavković, Convicted War Criminal for Crimes in Kosovo, Dies at 79

Serbian war criminal Nebojša Pavković, convicted by the Hague Tribunal for war crimes committed in Kosovo, has died at the age of 79.

Pavković was found guilty of participating in a joint criminal enterprise aimed at the persecution and forcible expulsion of Albanians from Kosovo. He was also convicted of murder.

According to the 2009 first-instance verdict, Pavković was held responsible for orchestrating a widespread campaign of violence against the Kosovo Albanian civilian population, carried out by forces under the control of Yugoslav and Serbian authorities. This campaign included killings, sexual assaults, and the deliberate destruction of mosques.
