The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, announced the inauguration of the new Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo in Strasbourg. She stated that the new consulate building, with an area of 350 m², is located in a strategic area near the historic city center, behind the renowned “Saint Paul” cathedral, and amidst Kosovo’s strongest allies.
“In the presence of ambassadors and consuls from many member states of the Council of Europe, Members of the European Parliament, and numerous friends of Kosovo, along with the General Consul of the Republic of Kosovo in Strasbourg, Ambassador Lulzim Hiseni, we inaugurated the new consulate building. This building, with an area of 350 m², is strategically located next to the historic city center, behind the famous ‘Saint Paul’ cathedral, and among Kosovo’s strongest allies, the diplomatic missions of the United States and Germany,” Gërvalla said.
She further emphasized that this building is state property.
“The newly inaugurated building is the property of the Republic of Kosovo and comes after the Government’s decision to gradually purchase properties for Kosovo’s missions abroad. So far, properties have been purchased in the United States, the United Kingdom, Senegal, and Croatia. The ceremony was enhanced by performances from Kosovo artists, Visar Kuçi on the violin and Lirika Pula on the piano, as well as an exhibition of paintings by Kosovo painter Marigona Ademi, who held her exhibition in the premises of the Council of Europe this past May,” she added.
