Kosovo and North Macedonia have marked another milestone in their bilateral cooperation with the opening of a new joint border crossing between the two countries.

The Glloboçicë – Jazhincë crossing point is now operational, where travelers will undergo joint border control following the “Entry – Entry” principle—the same model already in use at the Hani i Elezit – Bllacë crossing, inaugurated earlier this year on April 12.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, North Macedonia’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Izet Mexhiti, and Interior Minister Panče Toshkovski.

In a Facebook post, Minister Sveçla described this step as a testament to the successful cooperation between the two states and their interior ministries:

“This significant step for our citizens is yet another proof of the successful cooperation enjoyed by our two countries and ministries. Based on our shared values, we will continue our joint work to enhance security in both our countries and across the region,” he wrote.

Sveçla further emphasized that cooperation with North Macedonia will continue to deepen, in the spirit of good neighborliness and a mutual interest in security and the free movement of people.
