Ahead of the start of the new school year on September 1, Rrahman Jasharaj, Chairman of the United Union of Education, Science, and Culture (SBASHK), extended his greetings to teachers, parents, and students.
In a statement to the media, Jasharaj expressed hope that all students will receive school materials promptly, and that the delays experienced in the past two years will not be repeated.
“Monday, September 1, will mark the beginning of a new quest for knowledge. SBASHK addresses educators, parents, and students with the wish that this school year begins successfully and continues to be marked by numerous achievements. We hope that students will be supplied with textbooks as soon as possible, so that the situation of the past two school years—when due to the negligence of Minister Nagavci and the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MASHT) students did not receive their materials on time—will not be repeated,” said Jasharaj.
He further emphasized the importance of having a competent government in Kosovo. “We hope that soon Kosovo will have a government with individuals who view serving in the cabinet as an honor and a responsibility, and not, as with the current Kurti government, see themselves as too important and treat those who dare to criticize them as enemies when they fail to perform properly or at all.”
Jasharaj also addressed teachers directly, urging them to continue their sacred mission of educating generations.
“Honorable teachers, we wish you a successful start to the new school year and thank you for your dedication over the past years. We urge you to continue your sacred mission of educating and nurturing generations. Dear parents, we also extend our best wishes for the new school year and ask you to support the teachers in achieving the common goal of high academic success. Please do not act against teachers to curry favor with the authorities, even when education workers are on protest or strike. Be assured that teachers do not take pleasure in these actions; they act after long waits for the government to engage with SBASHK and provide solutions for legitimate requests. Your children spend minimal time with the authorities, but a significant portion of their day is with teachers.”
Finally, Jasharaj addressed the students: “Dear students, we wish you a successful start to the school year and encourage you to engage sincerely in acquiring new knowledge and to heed the advice of your teachers and parents. They sincerely care for your well-being and hope that you achieve the most in life.”
