Nigel Farage has once again stirred controversy over the issue of illegal Albanian migrants in the UK, announcing that he will soon meet Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama for lunch.
Speaking at a Reform UK party conference, Farage said the meeting would take place in the coming weeks, expressing hope that it could lead to an agreement on the deportation of convicted Albanian criminals.
In a provocative remark, Farage joked that when he travels to Albania, he might book a large plane to take back as many Albanian prisoners as possible.
“We will deport foreign criminals. Soon I’ll have lunch with the Prime Minister of Albania. Maybe I’ll hire a big plane and bring some back with me—I’m not quite sure yet,” Farage said, according to The Telegraph.
Farage also reiterated that a government led by his party would stop migrant boats within two weeks of taking power, calling illegal immigration a “national security threat” and a risk to “our women and girls on the streets.”
“You cannot enter illegally and stay. We will stop the boats within the first two weeks of governing,” he declared.
This statement comes just weeks after a social media clash between Farage and PM Rama over the number of Albanian prisoners in UK prisons.
