Ramadan Nishori, a survivor of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo, has expressed his pride in the impact of his public testimony. According to him, two other men who had experienced violence during the war have reached out for help at the KCRT association, reports Rks News.
Nishori emphasized that their request for help means a great deal to him and praised the widespread support from Kosovar society.
“I am very happy and proud that after my testimony on April 14, two men (who were sexually assaulted during the war) came to the association (KCRT) and asked for help. This makes me feel even more proud for having come forward and shared my story. I’m deeply grateful to all of Kosovar society for the support they have given me. Just those two coming forward is very, very important to me,” said Nishori in an interview with journalist Xhemajl Rexha.
He also shared the joy of being able to speak openly with his family about his experience, noting that he endured immense suffering, including torture in prisons and the traumatic experience of the Dubrava Massacre.
Nishori made a heartfelt appeal to anyone who has experienced sexual violence during the war to seek professional help, emphasizing that this was a crucial step that helped save his own life.
