Pristina – Xhevahire Izmaku, deputy of the Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma), has confirmed that Nisma’s support could provide the crucial 61 votes needed to constitute the Kosovo Assembly. Speaking on RTV21, Izmaku emphasized that their vote is contingent on an agreement for Fatmir Limaj to be elected as Speaker of the Assembly.

“A deputy can always change their mind, but based on our current discussions with Assembly members, there is a general declaration of support for Limaj. While this is an important factor, it is not the sole deciding one. I anticipate that an agreement will be reached for Limaj to become Speaker, which will also secure the necessary votes to form the Government,” Izmaku stated.

The development signals potential progress toward resolving the prolonged political deadlock over the Assembly’s formation and leadership, with Nisma positioning itself as a decisive player in the ongoing negotiations.
