Unlike previous years, this year no senior political representatives from Serbia have been invited, nor have they publicly stated that they received an invitation to participate in the traditional National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, held from February 4 to 6.

According to media outlet N1, invitations were not sent to the addresses of key Serbian political figures, while some former Serbian ambassadors to the US describe the event as overhyped and largely symbolic, often used for self-promotion in domestic politics.

N1 sources report that invitations were extended only to a few individuals outside active state politics, including representatives of civil society and diplomacy, but not to key power holders in Belgrade.

According to former Serbian diplomats, the absence of major political figures this year may also be linked to the cooling of political relations between Serbia and the United States.
