The Embassy of Kosovo in Austria has announced that, starting from March 1st, Kosovars wishing to convert their driver’s license in Austria will no longer be required to take the practical driving test.
This comes as a result of a new law that simplifies the conversion process, which applies to all categories of driver’s licenses.
“We have just been officially informed that, starting from March 1, 2025, the amendment to the implementing regulation of the Driver’s License Law in Austria will come into effect. This change simplifies the conversion process of driver’s licenses for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and Albania. Citizens of the Republic of Kosovo who hold a valid driver’s license issued by the authorities of the Republic of Kosovo will NO longer need to take the practical test to convert it into an Austrian driver’s license. This exemption applies to all categories of driver’s licenses issued in the Republic of Kosovo,” the announcement states.
