The Assembly of Kosovo has suspended the session for the election of the President of Kosovo after failing to secure the necessary quorum to proceed with the voting rounds.
Despite a call from the Speaker of Parliament, Albulena Haxhiu, the voting process could not continue because only 66 deputies were present in the chamber.
According to the ruling of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, the parliamentary procedure for electing the president cannot proceed in the absence of two-thirds of the deputies, even for the continuation of voting rounds.
As a result, the presidential election process has been temporarily suspended, leaving the selection of the next President of the Republic unresolved.
The parliamentary session will resume only if the constitutional conditions are met, including the presence of the required number of deputies to ensure a valid voting process.
