North Macedonia and the United Kingdom signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement today in London.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Aleksandar Nikoloski and UK Minister of Economy and Exports Gareth Thomas signed a historic intergovernmental Infrastructure Partnership Agreement valued at £5 billion.
The cooperation will include not only financial support but also a direct transfer of expertise from the UK public administration and business sectors.
Thomas emphasized that both countries are close NATO allies and described the partnership as an important step forward in bilateral economic relations.
The government of North Macedonia approved the agreement two days ago, following an accord between Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the European Political Community Summit in Tirana, Albania.
The opposition party LSDM expressed some objections and requested more details about the allocation of the funds.
