The Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA) has clarified that the appearance of northern Kosovo municipal logos containing Serbian motifs on the E-Municipalities digital platform is part of a technical and administrative update, not a political decision.
According to the ministry, the process of updating the official symbols of the municipalities of North Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Zveçan, and Zubin Potok is being carried out in cooperation with the Information Society Agency (ASHI). Officials emphasized that the update is being implemented in accordance with official decisions and institutional standards.
The ministry stressed that the integration of municipal symbols into the digital platform is part of broader efforts to standardize data and improve administrative functionality across Kosovo’s local governance system. Authorities underlined that the process is purely technical and aims to ensure accurate representation of municipal information within government digital services.
The clarification comes after public attention and debate regarding the visual elements of the municipal logos, particularly those reflecting Serbian cultural and symbolic motifs. The ministry reiterated that the update does not reflect any political agenda or policy shift, but rather aligns with existing legal and administrative frameworks regulating municipal symbols.
Officials added that cooperation between central institutions and technical agencies remains essential to modernizing public services and ensuring transparency and consistency across digital governance platforms.
