The Norwegian government will allocate 570 million NOK ($53.32 million) to the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU) for the purchase of drones and air defense equipment, according to the government’s website.

The contribution is the result of collaboration between the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Norway.

“Ukraine urgently needs more military equipment to defend itself against Russian aggression. Together with other countries, Norway will do everything possible to help,” said Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.

Norway has already committed 1.8 billion NOK to the IFU starting from 2022.

Together with the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, Australia, New Zealand, and Iceland, a total of more than 12.5 billion NOK has been allocated.

In the past, Norway has already contributed to the procurement of air defense equipment, demining equipment, artillery ammunition, and vehicles, among other things. In July, Norway allocated one billion Norwegian kroner ($92.69 million) to support Ukraine’s air defense.
