The number of journalists killed in Gaza since the start of the war with Israel has increased. The Gaza Government Media Office has reported that photojournalist Ismail Abu Hatab was killed.
Hatab worked as a photojournalist in Gaza for various media platforms, the office stated on Telegram. They added that he also organized several photography exhibitions outside Palestine to convey the catastrophic reality in Gaza. The office “condemned in the strongest terms the systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation.”

The CPJ is still investigating details for confirmation in at least 20 other cases that indicate potential targeting.
