The death toll from Russia’s heaviest attack on Kyiv since July has risen to 19, including four children.
Russian forces also struck a Ukrainian warship, killing at least one crew member.
The massive offensive damaged multiple residential areas in the capital, as well as key buildings such as the EU delegation, the British Council, the Azerbaijani embassy, and a Turkish company.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the “massive attack” and called for “new and strict sanctions” against Moscow. Meanwhile, the Mayor of Kyiv declared Friday a day of mourning, coinciding with planned talks between U.S. and Ukrainian officials in New York.
