The Swiss newspaper “NZZ” has clarified its reporting on the discreet Kosovo-Serbia meetings held in Solothurn, Switzerland, confirming that Besnik Bislimi and Marko Đurić were participants but did not meet directly.

The updated paragraph in the newspaper now includes the sentence: “However, they never met each other.” This detail was absent from the original version of the article. The edited version has also been shared by Bislimi’s advisor, Klisman Kadiu.

The Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the country has been organizing these meetings in Solothurn for years. The meetings are intentionally discreet, designed to allow participants to discuss matters without public scrutiny.

Lea Zurcher, spokesperson for the Swiss MFA, told Express:

“FDFA considers it important to provide a space for sustainable dialogue on political issues, allowing participants to build relationships and trust without being burdened by public attention.”

According to Zurcher, this discreet format enables direct contacts and the exploration of ideas that can later inform official processes. She emphasized that the approach aligns with Switzerland’s longstanding tradition of Good Offices and complements the official EU-led framework for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
