The Social Democratic Party of Vojvodina (LSV) emphasizes that Serbia must not become a collaborator of dictatorships. Therefore, they demand President Aleksandar Vucic to respond regarding whether he agrees with Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin’s meetings with representatives of Russian and Belarusian security services.
“After his visit to Russia, Vulin recently stayed in Belarus and met with the director of the Belarusian security service. During that meeting, an agreement was reached on cooperation in various fields, including joint training of the police forces of Serbia and Belarus,” stated LSV Executive Board member Aleksandar Olenik in a media statement. According to Olenik, cooperation with the dictatorial regime of Alexander Lukashenko and its police apparatus only harms Serbia’s image.
“We demand an urgent response from Aleksandar Vucic, as such actions by the authorities are extremely detrimental to the country. We raise the question of whether the Belarusian police will train their Serbian counterparts using the harsh methods they apply in Belarus,” said Olenik.
