Four villages in the Gramsh region are engulfed in thick smoke and towering flames as wildfires sweep across the area, causing destruction and chaos.
According to Top Channel, the villages of Kullollas, Bletëz, Menkollar, and Shimër have been severely affected. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense issued an urgent evacuation order, urging residents to leave their homes immediately and cooperate with authorities for safe relocation.
In Kullollas, an 80-year-old man lost his life after reportedly starting a fire in his garden that spiraled out of control. He is believed to have died from smoke inhalation as the flames spread rapidly across a wide area.
The Shemberdhenje Tekke, a local religious site, has been destroyed, and the fate of one person trapped inside remains unknown.
Meanwhile, in the village of Bulçar, reports indicate that a woman and two children are trapped inside a farm and are urgently calling for help.
Rescue operations face severe difficulties due to rugged terrain and massive flames that are threatening the lives of emergency responders. Ambulance and firefighting teams are struggling to reach the affected areas in time.
