The Basic Court in Prishtina – Special Department has imposed one month of pre-trial detention on the defendant M.M., due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of “Incitement of division and intolerance.”

Following the preliminary hearing, the court determined that detention was a proportionate and necessary measure, warning that if released, the suspect could evade justice due to the high-risk nature of the alleged offense and the possibility of him becoming inaccessible to judicial authorities.

He may destroy, hide, or falsify evidence related to the criminal offense or obstruct the normal course of the proceedings, and may influence others potentially involved in these actions,” the court statement reads.

Grave Allegations of Violent Extremism

According to the court, M.M. is suspected of consistently inciting and publicly spreading hatred and intolerance among religious groups, as well as promoting extremist Islamic ideology.

The indictment includes accusations that the suspect shared posts calling for violence, including:

  • Beheadings of those who “disrespect Islam”
  • Calls for massacres against Jews and Christians
  • Spreading fear in non-Muslim lands, echoing ISIS propaganda methods

Through Facebook, the accused allegedly shared photos and videos featuring radicalized individuals and direct messages endorsing terrorist acts committed by the Islamic Terrorist Organization ISIS,” the court continued.

On 14 May 2025, the suspect allegedly posted a video showing a car involved in a suicide bombing, interpreted as an act of incitement and extremist ideological propaganda.
