The One Stop Shop system will be officially inaugurated today, on May 28 at the Jazhinë border crossing between North Macedonia and Kosovo.

This system represents a modern model of integrated border control, aimed at facilitating the movement of people and goods between the two countries, by implementing a single border check by the host country.

Venera Azizi, spokesperson for the Government of North Macedonia, stated to KosovaPress that the system not only eases traffic but also enhances security and fosters economic development.

“This system, already implemented in Bllacë and now in Jazhinë, serves as a bridge facilitating the movement of citizens and goods. It also brings enhanced security and economic growth. We will immediately continue expanding the One Stop Shop system to Tabanovce and Qafë Thanë, aiming to eventually apply it to all remaining border crossings of North Macedonia,” Azizi said.

Traffic Growth Demonstrates System Efficiency

Azizi also highlighted that, based on data from April and May of 2024 and 2025, border crossings increased from 550,000 in 2024 to over 776,000 in 2025, reflecting the system’s growing impact.

The One Stop Shop system was first implemented months ago at the Bllacë–Han i Elezit border crossing.

The inauguration event will include institutional representatives from North Macedonia and the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla.
