A full 365 days have passed since the attack on the main Ibër–Lepenc water supply canal in the village of Varragë, in the municipality of Zubin Potok – a Serb-majority area in northern Kosovo – and the perpetrators have still not been fully identified.
The incident occurred on 29 November 2024 and was classified by Kosovo authorities as a terrorist act. The Government of Kosovo accused Serbia of organizing the explosion, while Belgrade denied the allegations.
International actors, including the United States, have stated that so far there is no evidence directly linking Belgrade to the incident. Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are involved in the ongoing investigation.
Kosovo’s Special Prosecution has confirmed that the case remains under active investigation.
Authorities have arrested dozens of suspects allegedly connected to the explosion and have seized weapons and explosives.
However, so far only Dragisha and Jovan Vicentijević have been placed in pre-trial detention.
The material damage caused by the explosion has been estimated at around 400,000 euros.
