The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that only six political parties have submitted their lists of candidates for Members of Parliament ahead of Kosovo’s upcoming snap parliamentary elections, Reporteri.net writes.
According to the CEC, the deadline for submitting candidate lists online expires tonight at 23:59.
“Tonight at midnight (Sunday, 7 December 2025, 23:59) the deadline ends for political entities to submit online their lists of candidates for Members of Parliament, in order to be certified for participation in the snap elections for the Assembly of Kosovo,” the CEC stated.
Parties That Have Submitted Their Lists
A total of 141 candidates represent the following political entities:
- Za Slobodu Pravdu i Opstanak – 12 candidates
- Socijaldemokratska Unija (SDU) – 35 candidates
- Jedinstvena Goranska Partija – 23 candidates
- Partia Rome e Bashkuar e Kosovës – 40 candidates
- Kosovaki Nevi Romani Partia – 11 candidates
- FJALA – 20 candidates
The CEC also noted that, as part of its legal obligations regarding the eligibility and suitability of candidates, it will submit formal requests to relevant institutions for verification.
“The CEC, through its Office, will deliver specific requests and the list of candidates to several institutions for verification, to ensure compliance with Article 30 of the Law on General Elections,” the announcement adds.
