Former U.S. Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, has been appointed to a new position in the U.S. State Department as Senior Advisor for Efficiency and Accountability.
This news was confirmed by the State Department following allegations made by Berisha suggesting that Kim had been dismissed from her post.
“I have no reliable news, except for reports published, on whether she has been dismissed. What I have said in my statements is that she was a corrupt diplomat, and I have invited the FBI and Congress to investigate her for corruption, and any information I possess, I am ready to make available,” stated Berisha.
Speculation about her departure was fueled by the temporary removal of Yuri Kim’s profile from the official State Department website, leading many to believe she had been removed from her position. However, it appears this action was taken for updating her information related to her new appointment.
In her new role as Senior Advisor for Efficiency and Accountability, Yuri Kim will be responsible for strengthening efficiency and transparency within the U.S. State Department. This new position has been created as part of an effort to enhance effectiveness in public administration and is inspired by governance models like the Government Efficiency Department led by Elon Musk.
