Leaders of Kosovo’s opposition parties have indicated 21 December as their preferred date for new parliamentary elections.
Bedri Hamza of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Ramush Haradinaj of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and Fatmir Limaj of Nisma Socialdemokrate expressed their preference while arriving at the meeting convened by President Vjosa Osmani.
The meeting, which has now commenced, also includes Albin Kurti, leader of the Vetëvendosje (LVV) party. Although LVV won the most votes in the 9 February elections, it did not secure enough seats to form a new government.
The discussions are expected to focus on setting the election date and resolving the ongoing political deadlock.
