Despite the Albanian police not granting official permission for the demonstration, members of the Democratic Party (PD) have begun their protest in the capital city.

Notably, this protest coincides with a major diplomatic event—the arrival of leaders from 47 European nations in Tirana for the European Political Community Summit, held under the theme “New Europe in a New World.”

According to Top Channel, prominent PD figures including Flamur Noka, Jorida Tabaku, Enno Bozdo, and several others gathered near Zogu I Boulevard to begin the protest.

The demonstrators are rallying under slogans such as:
“Down with dictatorship”
“We want our votes”
“Edi Rama is a criminal”

This bold move by the opposition comes at a moment when all international eyes are on Tirana, with high-level European leaders present. The protest underscores the deepening political tensions within Albania, as the opposition intensifies accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama’s government.
