The Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Aivo Orav, expressed disappointment after the failed constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly today. He stated that he and other international observers were present with great hope for a breakthrough, but unfortunately, nothing new occurred.

A Call for Immediate Formation of Institutions

Orav emphasized the critical need for institutions to be formed as soon as possible. “We came here with great hope, and unfortunately, nothing happened again,” he said. “Kosovo needs an Assembly immediately; it needs a new government that will build a strong new bridge between Kosovo and Brussels to accelerate its journey toward the EU.”

Orav’s comments underscore the international community’s growing concern over the prolonged political deadlock, which is now being temporarily halted by a Constitutional Court ruling until August 8.
