As reported, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Russia.

Orban will be accompanied by Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

It is noted that the reported visit comes a few days after Orban asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to consider a ceasefire to accelerate the end of the war with Russia.

The reaction of the former Estonian Prime Minister and now EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, was immediate.

Kallas emphasized that Orban’s visit does not represent the EU.

“In Moscow, Viktor Orban in no way represents the EU or its positions,” wrote Josep Borrell’s successor on social media.

“He is using the EU presidency to create confusion,” Kallas added.

“The EU is united, clearly siding with Ukraine and against Russian aggression.”
