The OSCE Mission in Kosovo has warmly welcomed the Central Election Commission’s (KEC) decision to accredit 28 local and international media outlets, including Serbian-language media, for the upcoming local elections on Sunday, October 12.
In its statement, the OSCE highlighted that the move reinforces inclusivity, transparency, equality, and media freedom, which are essential elements for free and fair elections.
“Access to information in all community languages is a key component of Kosovo’s multiethnic and democratic framework. Ensuring equal opportunities for all media strengthens public trust in the electoral process and supports informed participation at the community level,” the OSCE emphasized.
The mission also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting and protecting freedom of expression, media pluralism, and equal access to information for all communities, in line with OSCE principles and international standards.
