President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti met yesterday at the Presidential Palace, Rks News reports.

The meeting did not result in any agreement regarding the presidential position.

Osmani has expressed her ambition to serve another term as head of state, but it remains unclear whether she will secure the necessary support from Parliament deputies.

Regarding this matter, Kurti met again today with LDK Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku, who stated that the party does not accept candidates who would act as an “extension of the government”, while emphasizing they do not hold a rejecting stance toward anyone, including Osmani.

According to constitutional deadlines, the presidential election must conclude by March 4 to avoid triggering new elections.
