The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has traveled to Poland to participate, alongside world leaders, in the commemorative ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi German concentration and extermination camp, Auschwitz.
During the ceremony, testimonies from two Holocaust survivors of the Auschwitz camp will be shared with participants, recalling one of the darkest chapters in human history.
Auschwitz is a symbol of the Holocaust and the atrocities of World War II. In 2005, the United Nations declared January 27th as International Holocaust Remembrance Day to honor the victims and encourage the world to engage in ensuring that such horrors are never repeated.
