Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani has called for the swift constitution of the Parliament and the formation of the Government within the constitutional deadlines.

Osmani emphasized that global developments are moving quickly and Kosovo cannot afford to lag behind.

“You are witnessing geopolitical developments, and the globe does not wait for us. It is crucial that we have the constitution of the Parliament and the formation of the government as soon as possible. Kosovo has much work to do,” said Osmani.

No Interference in Coalition Issues

Osmani also made it clear that she does not interfere in coalition matters. She acknowledged that in the past, some presidents had been involved in coalition matters, but emphasized that such matters are party issues, not her responsibility.

“As you know, as president, I do not have the right to vote, and although there have been cases in the past where presidents got involved in coalition issues, I consider them party matters and, according to the Constitution, they are not my duty. I am confident that the relevant institutions, in this case, the deputies, will do their utmost to ensure the success of the session,” Osmani added.

The Constitutional Session of Kosovo’s Parliament has been scheduled for April 15th, a decision confirmed by the Kosovo Presidency yesterday.
