The President of the country, Vjosa Osmani, after unveiling the statue of Ibrahim Rugova in Podujevë, also spoke about the protests by Serbs at the border points connecting Kosovo and Serbia.

Osmani stated that the Serbian state is behind the blockades at the border points with Kosovo, urging the international community to take a public stance on Serbia’s continuous violations.

“In violation of all the Brussels agreements reached over the past 12 years, Serbia once again shows that it has no interest in free movement or good neighborly relations. On the contrary, it continues to use criminal gangs to carry out ongoing attacks against Kosovo and free movement.

These recent blockades, which specifically aim to terrorize Albanian citizens, have only one purpose: to create tensions, destabilize Kosovo, and the entire region.

At the same time, they clearly show the direct connection between the Serbian state and the criminal gangs that have organized these blockades.

I call on our allies to take a public stance regarding these continuous violations by Serbia, which are infringing on the rights of our citizens and are attempting to destabilize peace and security not only in Kosovo but in our entire region,” said Osmani.
