Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, has embarked on an official visit to Colombia, where she participated in the International Conference on the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict. Her visit coincides with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, a timely reminder of the urgency to address this global issue.
In her speech, President Osmani emphasized that violence against women and girls remains a persistent global challenge, one that demands immediate and collective action.
“As long as even one woman is subjected to violence, none of us will truly be free,” she stated, highlighting the need for greater international efforts to prevent and punish sexual violence as a weapon of war. She also called for the protection of women’s rights and dignity everywhere in the world.
President Osmani’s remarks underscore the importance of global solidarity in ending gender-based violence and ensuring the safety and rights of women across the globe.
