President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has commemorated the Battle of Çabrat on its 26th anniversary, honoring it as a symbol of resistance and national pride.

“In the forefront of history, where the blood of freedom became our flag, stood the sons and daughters of Brigade 137 ‘Gjakova’ of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA),” Osmani said. “With heart and honor, they defended Gjakova from the barbarity of the genocidal Serbian regime. In that glorious battle, 26 KLA fighters fell heroically, around 100 civilians were brutally murdered, and over 300 others were forcibly abducted.”

President Osmani emphasized that Çabrat remains a vow to freedom, a permanent reminder, and a call for justice.

“Glory to the martyrs! Honor to the fallen! Justice for the missing!” she declared.
