President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani today honored the 24 police officers who have died in the line of duty, marking the Memorial Day for police officers. She expressed deep gratitude for their sacrifice and the continued dedication of the Kosovo Police in protecting the country.

Honoring Heroes and Their Legacy

“On this day, we bow with the deepest respect before the 24 police officers who fell in the line of duty in defense of our lives, freedom, integrity, and the sovereignty of our state,” Osmani wrote. “Afrim Bunjaku and Enver Zymberi are the heroes of our time, who with their courage showed the world that Kosovo will not bow to anyone. Along with them, we remember the 22 other police officers whose names will never be covered by the dust of oblivion.”

She emphasized that these officers “did not choose the easy path, but the path of honor, oath, and commitment to the homeland,” adding that they “live on in every uniform worn with pride today, in every step of our Police.”

A Message of Gratitude and Commitment

Osmani’s message also extended to the active members of the force. “Today, we honor not only the fall of officers in the line of duty but also the continued commitment of thousands of women and men who every day stand for this country, with courage, responsibility, and love for the Republic of Kosovo. In times of peace or tension, in the north or in the south, in every inch of Kosovo, our Police are the fortress of security.”

“Eternal glory to those who fell in the line of duty! Thank you to our Police, which continues to protect the homeland with loyalty!” Osmani concluded.
