President Vjosa Osmani has strongly condemned the physical and verbal violence directed at young footballer Belgin Jashari.

In an official statement on Facebook, Osmani expressed that violence and discrimination in sports are a direct attack on Kosovo’s core values of respect, equality, and human dignity.

“Sport is a bridge that connects people, not a wall that divides them!”

Osmani continued: “Violence and discrimination in sports are a direct assault on our most cherished values: respect, equality, and human dignity. I strongly condemn the physical and verbal violence against young footballer Belgin Jashari. This is an unacceptable and intolerable act in our society.

Every young person should feel safe, respected, and equal, regardless of their background or identity.

Such acts cannot and must not go unpunished. The relevant institutions must take all necessary measures to investigate the case and punish those responsible for the violence and insults.

Kosovo is a free and democratic country. Violence and hatred will not have a place on our sports fields, nor in our society. No one is above the law when they violate the dignity and safety of our youth.

Belgin, you are part of our present and future! Kosovo is proud of you!”
