At the reception marking the 249th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America, Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani emphasized the enduring partnership and vital support that the American people have provided to Kosovo.
Calling July 4th not just a celebration for the U.S., but a tribute to the role the U.S. played in shaping Kosovo, Osmani stated:
“We know who our friends are those who stood by us when it mattered most. The American people stood with Kosovo every step of the way. Twenty-six years ago, your leadership helped us gain our freedom a freedom denied to us for centuries. Every chapter of the Republic of Kosovo bears the seal of the United States.”
Osmani praised the U.S. for its unwavering support, particularly during the most difficult periods in Kosovo’s history — in building peace, institutions, economic development, and strengthening strategic defense and diplomacy.
She also highlighted the deepening military cooperation between Kosovo and the United States:
“We’ve enhanced our defense cooperation through constant coordination. Our military professionals are educated in the highest U.S. institutions. We have served side by side in international peace missions and remain united in facing threats that defy our principles, glorify violence, and undermine peace.”
