The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, expressed her sincere condolences following the death of the academician and former first mayor of Prishtina after the war, Salih Gashi, writes Rks News.
In her message, Osmani highly appreciated Gashi’s figure and contribution to the public and institutional life of the country, describing him as a distinguished and respected personality.
“Professor Gashi belonged to a generation that, with dedication, knowledge, and integrity, built bridges between knowledge and society. He was a committed contributor at the University of Prishtina, a respected figure in academic circles, and a wise voice in the institutional and public life of Kosovo,” said Osmani.
“His contribution to education, science, and society will forever remain part of our collective memory and an inspiration for future generations,” she added.
In the end, Osmani offered her moral support to the family and all those who shared the journey with academician Gashi: “I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends, the academic community, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. In these difficult moments for the family, I stand with you and encourage you to find strength in coping with the pain. Forever may the memory of academician Salih Gashi remain!”
