President Vjosa Osmani, speaking from Riyadh, announced that Kosovo can expect “many more good news in the coming months”, emphasizing her government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Kosovo’s position in the international arena.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to make Kosovo stronger on the international stage,” said President Osmani.
She underlined that Syria’s recognition of Kosovo was not an instant development but the result of months of diplomatic effort.
“The recognition from Syria didn’t happen overnight. Our first meeting with the Syrian President took place in April, and since then, our teams have maintained regular contact,” Osmani explained.
She also expressed deep gratitude to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, describing him as “an extraordinary supporter of our Republic.”
Osmani called Syria’s recognition “a remarkable and historic act,” symbolizing not only the acknowledgment of Kosovo’s sovereignty but also the shared struggle for freedom between the two nations.
“Today we bring good news for Kosovo — Syria has officially recognized our Republic. This is more than a diplomatic act; it’s an acknowledgment of our peoples’ long sacrifices for freedom. Both Kosovo and Syria have endured immense suffering and loss, and if there is one nation that truly understands Syria’s sacrifice, it is the people of Kosovo,” Osmani said.
She concluded that this step marks the opening of a new chapter of cooperation between the two states, grounded in mutual respect, resilience, and shared values of liberty.
