The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, from the Peace Summit that is being held in Switzerland for Ukraine, said that Kosovo can share its story of how it has transformed from a state built from scratch into a model of democracy.
Referring to the current situation in Ukraine, she also quoted the American president that in difficult times, it is important to stand firm.
“As Kosovo, I believe we are in a position with all the others participating in this Summit to share our story, the story of the Republic of Kosovo as a state that was built from scratch, as a state that has suffered and sacrificed a lot. However, we have become a model of democracy and powerful alliances. Because as President Biden often says in difficult times, the most important thing is what you stand for or who stands with you. Just as alliances were necessary to save Kosovo from the genocidal regime, it is equally important now that the entire security architecture in Europe is being threatened through Russian aggression, that we stay together as allies who believe in the same values to defend the same principles that were defended in the 90s in Kosovo”.
Osmani also mentioned the meeting he had with the president of Switzerland, Viola Amherd, with whom he said they discussed ways to increase cooperation between the two countries.
