On the 558th anniversary of the death of national hero Gjergj Kastrioti–Skanderbeg, President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani honored his legacy, describing him as the sword of freedom, a master of battlefield strategy, and a visionary builder of alliances.
In a post published on Facebook, President Osmani emphasized that from Kruja to the heart of Europe, Skanderbeg’s name became a symbol of resistance, honor, and the eternal identity of the Albanian people.
“Gjergj Kastrioti–Skanderbeg was the sword of freedom, the strategist of battles, and the builder of alliances,” Osmani wrote.
“He defended not only Albanian lands, but also the dignity, faith, and freedom of the European continent.”
She highlighted that Skanderbeg’s leadership went beyond military resistance, shaping a lasting legacy that safeguarded European values during one of the most critical periods in history.
“From Kruja to the heart of Europe, his name became a symbol of resistance, honor, and our eternal identity,” the President added.
Osmani concluded her message with a tribute to the Albanian national hero:
“Glory to the great hero Gjergj Kastrioti–Skanderbeg!”
